It is based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, and is one of the UK’s largest pub retailers and brewers. The company operates a wide range of pubs, restaurants, and hotels across the country. Greene King also owns well-known brands like Hungry Horse, Farmhouse Inns, and Flaming Grill, among others.

The challenges:

NATIONAL GEOGRAPHY: Greene King operates across the entire UK, with locations spread from urban centres to rural areas. This vast geographical spread presents logistical challenges in ensuring consistent security coverage.

DIVERSE PORTFOLIO OF SITES: Greene King’s extensive portfolio includes a variety of establishments, from traditional pubs and family-friendly restaurants to modern bars and hotels.

ADHOC SECURITY NEEDS: Due to the dynamic nature of the hospitality industry, Greene King frequently faces unplanned or short-notice security requirements.

Our solution:

At the onset of the contract, we assembled a dedicated Operations team specifically tailored to meet the unique needs of Greene King’s diverse portfolio. This strategic approach ensured that the Door Supervisors deployed were carefully selected to align with each pub’s atmosphere and customer profile.

We demonstrated our flexibility and scalability by adjusting our security presence to accommodate key events, such as the World Cup, where increased patronage demanded heightened security measures. Additionally, we have efficiently provided Close Protection (CP) and Dog Security services on an ad hoc basis.
