REPORTING TO: Operations Manager Liverpool

HOURS: 40 hours a week

OVERVIEW OF JOB DESCRIPTION

This role focuses on the security provision of a fast paced and dynamic new venue opening in Liverpool and part of a wider brand with a strong presence within the hospitality market space.

As the Senior Events Manager, the primary role is to ensure the safety and security of the venue’s clients and employees through effective management of a team of security professionals that will operate across the premises for a wide variety of events and functions as well as day to day operations.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in similar roles, and a proven track record of managing the security function in diverse environments. The candidate will take pride in their appearance and have good customer service skills which will enable them to interact with a wide range of clients and tiers of management as well as visitors to the venue. The candidate will also be responsible for ensuring these values are exhibited by the wider security function, setting the standard by example.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for leading a security team across the venue and ensuring the safety and security of colleagues, clients, and visitors alike.
  • Responsible for co-ordinating the security function and liaising with event promoters and internal organisers as required, ensuring at all times the best standards of conduct and professionalism are displayed.
  • Scheduling staff rotas and completion of timesheets for all security colleagues and liaising with head office functions for the smooth administration of the team.
  • Provide expert guidance to the wider team ensuring conflict is effectively managed in accordance with client expectations.
  • Report and record details of incidents, searches and patrols and liaise with authorities as required.
  • Ensure all security procedures and protocols are followed and assist with the creation of new policies as required.
  • Assist with he creation of a crowd management policy and ensure this is continually reviewed win keeping with the requirements of the venue.
  • Oversee training and development requirements for the team.
  • Acting as a liaison with licencing and other authorities as required.
  • Ensuring all colleagues are well presented and act as ambassadors for both our brand and Boxparks Brand
  • Ensuring our clients are communicated with to ensure full transparency on who is attending to support at their venue.
  • Assisting the Area Managers with any recruitment needs.
  • Ensuring strict compliance to Data protection and associated regulations.
  • Maintain standards and welfare amongst all team members in accordance with the company policies and values.
  • Be professional, pleasant, friendly, courteous, and helpful always whilst carrying out duties to the highest standard.
  • To deal efficiently and effectively with emergencies including but not only, fire and bomb scares ensuring management teams are kept informed of any ongoing developments.
  • Any other reasonable duties as requested by your line manager.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Must own a valid SIA Door Supervisor licence.
  • Have at least 5 years’ experience of security work, ideally within a supervisory or management position
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Be physically fit and able to cope with the demands of the role.
  • Ability to lead and motivate security colleagues.
  • Ability to act quickly and respond to emergency situations.
  • Has a one team approach
  • Flexible approach to change Essential.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to balance competing priorities and workloads.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and take responsibility.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Adaptable and flexible in approach to work required.
  • Willingness and ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Excellent observational skills.

Desirable

  • First Aid trained.
  • Further qualifications in crowd management including Spectator Safety or Crown Management LVL5 certifications.

HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Always follow company policies and procedures.
  • Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment.
  • Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received.
  • Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system.
