Arvato Partnership: Supporting a Seamless TUPE Transition

Professional Security is proud to work in partnership with Arvato, a leading global services company. The Arvato Partnership showcases how our team successfully managed complex TUPE onboarding and HR transitions while maintaining operational excellence and staff engagement across multiple sites.

Arvato originated as a division of Bertelsmann, a renowned German media and services group. Since adopting its current name in 1999, Arvato has become a trusted global provider of customer support, IT, logistics, and finance services. Its clients include companies in telecommunications, energy, banking, e-commerce, and technology.

The Challenges

Onboarding Challenges

At the point of TUPE, the Arvato contract was split between two suppliers — with the Birmingham, Derby, and Corby sites managed separately. This created logistical challenges around onboarding schedules, staffing levels, TUPE paperwork, and uniform rollouts, all of which required precise coordination.

HR Interactions

Some staff at the Corby site were on legacy Avon contracts, spanning 35+ years. These required detailed HR reviews to align terms and conditions, bonuses, pension schemes, and healthcare benefits before transfer.

Staff Engagement

A key challenge was engaging all officers ahead of the transfer date — particularly those on four-on, four-off shift rotations, including nights. Capturing every detail accurately meant maintaining open, flexible communication with every team member.

Our Solution

To address these challenges, Professional Security maintained regular on-site visits and transparent communication with both Arvato and all affected staff. Our mobilisation team took a proactive, people-first approach across HR support, SOC support, uniform rollout, and screening/vetting coordination.

We completed thorough assignment instructions and risk assessments in advance, ensuring that every site was fully prepared and compliant before transfer.

In partnership with Arvato’s HR team, we transferred contracts carefully, maintaining employee confidence throughout. Each colleague received a personal consultation, even during evening hours, providing reassurance and answers to individual queries.

This hands-on, collaborative approach ensured that the TUPE transfer was seamless, safeguarding both the client’s operations and our colleagues’ well-being.
