A bit about Arvato..

Arvato is a global services company that originated as a division of Bertelsmann, a German media, services, and education group. Arvato’s history can be traced back to Bertelsmann’s printing and industry services division, and the company’s current name was introduced in 1999. Arvato offers services in customer support, information technology, logistics, and finance. Arvato’s services are used by companies in many industries, including telecommunications, energy, banking, insurance, e-commerce, IT, and internet.

The challenges:

ONBOARDING CHALLENGES: At the point of TUPE the contract was split between two different suppliers. The Birmingham and Derby and Corby sites were under different competitors. We therefore had two separate TUPE dates, which created challenges for onboarding, supervisors, TUPE paperwork, staffing levels and uniform deadlines.

HR INTERACTIONS: Staff contracts at Corby also required a lot of HR interaction as some staff were on old Avon contracts of 35yrs+ and their terms and conditions needed to be transferred to include bonuses, pension and healthcare.

STAFF ENGAGEMENT: Engaging with all staff in the lead up to the transfer date, to ensure all information was captured. As some officers are on a four on four off shift rotation which includes night shifts.

Our solution:

We conducted regular visits to all three sites along with regular and transparent communication with all staff and the client. Our team were meticulous during mobilisation especially in areas such as HR support, SOC support, Uniform rollout and Screening/Vetting support.

We also ensured that thorough assignment instructions where completed and ready to go, risk assessments had taken place, and we were fully prepared to protect Arvato.

Contracts were transferred carefully in collaboration with Arvato and the Professional Security HR support.

We ensured that all colleagues received a personal consultation to provide any comfort and answer questions to those transferring this meant holding consultation during the evenings.
