The Challenges

Door Supervisor Retention

The energetic nature of Roxy Leisure venues makes retaining skilled and experienced Door Supervisors (DS) a continual challenge. These roles demand more than traditional security skills — DS staff must show professionalism, adaptability, and approachability while maintaining safety.

Roxy’s culture centres around fun, inclusion, and social connection. Security at these venues is as much about creating a positive environment as it is about safety. Door Supervisors at Roxy act as brand ambassadors, ensuring guests feel both welcome and secure.

Our Solution

To tackle these challenges, we introduced a Roxy Leisure-specific incentive programme to reward loyalty and job satisfaction among Door Supervisors. Within the first three months, the scheme delivered over £2,500 in colleague savings through tailored offers and exclusive benefits, making employment at Roxy venues more rewarding.

We also organised recruitment days hosted within Roxy venues, allowing managers to meet candidates face-to-face. This hands-on approach helped identify individuals who fit Roxy’s brand culture. Candidates could experience the venue environment first-hand, helping them understand that the role combines security with customer engagement and hospitality.

As a result, the new recruitment and benefits model significantly improved retention, engagement, and alignment with Roxy’s lively brand values.
