A bit about Roxy Leisure…

Roxy Leisure is a dynamic and innovative hospitality group known for its unique and immersive leisure experiences. Roxy Leisure’s portfolio includes Roxy Ballroom, a high-energy venue combining bar games, live music, and a lively social atmosphere; King Pins, which puts a modern spin on the classic bowling experience; and Concept Taverns, a collection of
stylish and contemporary pubs, each with its own distinct vibe.

The group has a commitment to delivering exceptional experiences, blending high-quality food, drink, and entertainment to create memorable moments for guests. Roxy Leisure continues to expand its reach, consistently pushing the boundaries of leisure and hospitality with innovative concepts that captivate a wide audience.

The challenges:

DOOR SUPERVISOR RETENTION:

  • The fast-paced and highly social environment of Roxy Leisure venues means that retaining skilled and experienced Door Supervisors (DS) is an ongoing challenge. Unlike traditional security roles, working at Roxy requires a unique blend of professionalism, approachability, and adaptability.

CORRECT PROFILE OF DOOR TEAMS:

  • Roxy Leisure’s brand is centred around fun, socialising, and entertainment, which requires a different approach to traditional security. The role of a DS at Roxy isn’t just about enforcing rules, it’s about hosting and contributing to a welcoming atmosphere while maintaining safety and security.

Our solution:

We worked closely with Roxy Leisure to introduce a range of exclusive incentives designed to improve job satisfaction and reward loyalty among DS staff. Through this new benefits
scheme, over £2,500 in savings have been made within three months for frontline colleagues through tailored offers, making employment at Roxy sites more rewarding.

We held recruitment days in Roxy venues. This allowed venue managers to meet applicants first hand, giving them a direct role in selecting security staff who fit the culture and expectations of Roxy. Applicants also experienced the venue environment, helping them understand the role beyond just security, ensuring they were comfortable with the more interactive, customer-facing nature of the job.
