International Women’s Day: Supporting the White Ribbon Mission

This International Women’s Day (8th March), we are proud to recognise the colleagues across our business who are supporting the mission of White Ribbon UK. White Ribbon is the leading charity engaging men and boys to help end violence against women and girls.

International Women’s Day is a time to celebrate the achievements of women. However, it is also an opportunity to reflect on the role we can all play in creating safer and more respectful environments.

Across our organisation, colleagues are stepping forward as White Ribbon Ambassadors and Champions. Through this work, they help raise awareness, challenge harmful behaviour, and promote a culture of respect.

Why This Matters

Violence against women and girls remains a serious issue across the UK.

According to the Office for National Statistics:

  • 1 in 3 women will experience domestic abuse in their lifetime
  • Police recorded over 1.4 million domestic abuse-related incidents and crimes in the year ending March 2025

These statistics reflect the lived experiences of many women and highlight why raising awareness and challenging harmful behaviours is so important.

70% of Women in the UK experienced sexual harrassment

The Role of the Security Industry

In the security industry, our teams work in environments where behaviour can escalate quickly.

Security professionals are often in a position to identify early signs of conflict, de-escalate situations and set the standard for respectful behaviour in public spaces.

Creating safer environments isn’t just about responding when something happens – it’s about influencing culture before it does.

By promoting professionalism and respect, the security industry can play an important role in helping prevent violence against women and girls.

Supporting the White Ribbon Movement

We are proud to have colleagues across our organisation supporting the White Ribbon movement as Ambassadors and Champions.

  • White Ribbon Ambassadors are men who lead by example, challenge inappropriate behaviour and promote respectful environments.
  • White Ribbon Champions are women and non-male colleagues who raise awareness and encourage men to be part of the solution.

Together, they are helping to drive positive conversations across our teams and reinforce the importance of respect and accountability in the environments we work in every day.
