Professional Security successfully delivered a major rail deployment in partnership with London North Eastern Railway (LNER) last weekend, supporting the safe transport of Middlesbrough supporters travelling to Wembley for the Championship Play-Off Final.
Following a last-minute operational request from LNER, Professional Security rapidly mobilised 50 security officers to support services travelling from the North East to London during one of the busiest football travel weekends of the season.
The deployment formed part of a wider travel operation designed to help manage increased passenger volumes, support onboard staff and maintain a safe, controlled travelling environment for supporters making the journey to Wembley Stadium.
Officers were deployed across the full customer journey, providing a highly visible presence onboard services while working closely alongside Train Managers and rail staff throughout the operation.
Large-scale football travel presents unique challenges for rail providers, particularly during high-profile fixtures where passenger numbers and atmosphere can significantly increase pressure on onboard teams and station environments.
Professional Security’s role focused on supporting passenger reassurance, incident prevention and proactive engagement, helping ensure services operated safely and smoothly throughout the day.
The successful operation marks another significant milestone for Professional Security as the business continues to expand its capabilities within the UK transport sector.
While traditionally recognised for its work across hospitality, events and corporate security, the company continues to build experience supporting complex public transport operations where visibility, communication and adaptability are critical.
Mark Boyd, Head of Operations for the North East at Professional Security, said:
“We’re incredibly proud of the professionalism shown by our officers throughout this deployment. Supporting major rail operations requires a different style of security presence, focused equally on reassurance, communication and operational support. The team adapted brilliantly and delivered exactly what the client required under significant time pressures.”
Professional Security would like to thank all officers involved in the deployment for their professionalism, flexibility and commitment throughout the operation.
The successful partnership with LNER further strengthens the company’s growing presence within transport and infrastructure security operations across the UK.
