From balancing two jobs and running a mixed martial arts gym, to managing dozens of venues, hundreds of staff, and a growing regional portfolio across the South and South West of England, Kerry Jones’ 22-year career in security is a testament to grit, resilience, and true progression.

For 14 of those years, he juggled two jobs while also running a family vehicle workshop. These experiences developed the discipline, perseverance, and determination that still shape his approach today.

A Journey Built on Hard Work

Kerry’s career took a significant step forward when he joined the management team at Elite Security as an Operations Manager, quickly taking on increasing responsibility. He played a pivotal role in expanding operations across Swansea and Cardiff, securing major contracts including JD Wetherspoon and key venues within the Stonegate Group.

Following Professional Security’s acquisition of Elite Security in 2025, Kerry’s role scaled significantly. While his title remained the same, he now manages larger teams, oversees more clients, and operates across a broader geographical region – proving that career progression is often about the breadth and impact of what you manage, not just the title.

Leading Across Regions

In his current role, Kerry oversees a vast and diverse region including Bristol, Cheltenham, Worcester, Hereford, Swindon, Gloucester, Somerset, North Devon, and Wiltshire. His focus is on building strong relationships with Area Managers and clients, acting as the vital link between frontline teams and head office. Kerry often works seven days a week, covering thousands of miles to maintain operational excellence.

Driving Performance Today

Kerry’s responsibilities focus on three key areas:

  • Proactive Planning & Service Delivery
Ensuring rosters are prepared at least 2 weeks in advance to guarantee coverage while accommodating last-minute changes.
  • Recruitment & Growth
Overseeing regional recruitment strategies to maintain a pipeline of high-quality, vetted staff.
  • Leadership & Support
Acting as a key support system for Area Managers, Kerry helps resolve complex issues – from client concerns to staff and payroll queries, allowing his team to focus on delivering exceptional service on the ground.

He describes his role as bridging company strategy with day-to-day operations, ensuring both stability and efficiency across the region.

The Most Rewarding Part

For Kerry, the biggest reward is simple:

“Being with a client and hearing them say our team is providing a fantastic service.”

It’s these moments that reinforce the impact of strong leadership and teamwork.
