Professional Security thanks its 7,000 security officers working across the UK and Northern Ireland on International Security Officers’ Day 2026.
Today, 24 July, Professional Security is proud to celebrate International Security Officers’ Day 2026 and recognise the people who work around the clock to keep others safe.
The date was chosen to represent the 24/7 nature of security work. Across the country, security professionals work through the day and night, at weekends and on public holidays – often providing protection and reassurance without seeking recognition.
With more than 7,000 SIA-licensed security officers working across the UK and Northern Ireland, our people are at the heart of Professional Security.
From security officers protecting commercial sites and SIA-licensed door supervisors supporting hospitality venues, to spectator safety stewards working at major events and sporting fixtures, our frontline colleagues operate across an incredibly diverse range of environments.
Their work extends far beyond maintaining a visible security presence. Every day, our officers manage risk, prevent incidents, de-escalate difficult situations, support vulnerable people, respond to emergencies and help clients create safe and welcoming environments.
