Professional Security achieves +140 ACS score for a second consecutive year

Professional Security has achieved a score of +140 out of a possible 145 in its latest Security Industry Authority (SIA) Approved Contractor Scheme assessment.

Matching last year’s result, the score means we retain our position within the top 1% of ACS-approved security businesses in the UK. We have also retained approval for Door Supervision, Security Guarding and Close Protection.

This year, the assessment gave us the opportunity to showcase our frontline and management teams. Assessors visited operations across London, Liverpool and York.

For Professional Security, part of Fullerton Group, the result is a shared achievement for Professional Security. It recognises the continued work of colleagues across our frontline, operational and support teams.

What does an ACS score of +140 mean?

The Approved Contractor Scheme is the SIA’s voluntary quality assurance scheme for private security businesses. It helps buyers identify providers that have undergone an assessment against recognised industry standards.

Importantly, the scheme looks beyond the security service itself. It examines the organisation behind it, including areas such as staff training, financial management, and health and safety. As a result, clients gain a broader view of how their chosen security provider operates.

Under the SIA’s current framework, contractors are assessed against 78 achievement indicators, with a maximum overall score of 145. Businesses must meet the required achievement level for every indicator, with additional points available for exceeding that standard.

With a score of +140 out of 145, Professional Security remains within the top 1% of ACS-approved security businesses in the UK. Achieving this result for a second consecutive year demonstrates consistency in the standards behind our operations.

Showcasing our teams across three regions

A key part of this year’s assessment was the opportunity to demonstrate our work across London, Liverpool and York.

During the visits, our frontline and management teams were able to showcase their roles and contribution. This gave assessors an insight into how our services operate across three different geographical regions.

Operational visits are an important part of the ACS assessment process. Alongside reviewing company policies and records, assessments can include site visits, staff interviews and conversations with customers.

For a business supporting clients across multiple locations, strong links between frontline delivery and management support are essential. This year’s assessment allowed us to demonstrate that connection across different parts of our operation.

What the result means for our clients

Choosing a security provider means placing significant trust in an organisation. Its people may be responsible for helping to protect your premises while supporting the safety of employees, customers and visitors.

ACS approval provides independent assurance that a provider has met the scheme’s quality standard. Our +140 score and top 1% position provide clients with further evidence of the standards behind our approved services.

However, an ACS score is only one part of the picture. The SIA advises buyers to also consider a provider’s reputation, suitability for their requirements and assessment findings when choosing a security partner.
